Finally We Have The First Footage Of Jennifer Lawrence In ‘Mother!’
The secretive movie gets a little less secretive
Darren Aronofsky’s mother! has been couched in mystery, but a brand-new teaser reveals all. Just kidding. The 30-second clip of the Jennifer Lawrence-starring film poses more questions than it answers, which is exactly what the filmmaker was going for. The clip opens with Lawrence in a nightgown, wandering around her home as voice-overs hint at some semblance of a plot. It helps if you remember the movie’s official synopsis: “A couple's relationship is tested when uninvited guests arrive at their home, disrupting their tranquil existence.” That couple is played by Lawrence and Javier Bardem, and the uninvited guests, also a couple, are played by Michelle Pfeiffer and Ed Harris.
“What brings you to us?” Lawrence’s character asks. “They told me I could find a room here,” Harris’ responds. “He thought we were a bed and breakfast,” Bardem says. “He’s a stranger,” Lawrence says. “Did you know he had a wife?” And then, Lawrence’s character poses the ominous question—”Who are these people?”—before all hell breaks loose. The full trailer for mother! drops on August 8, and should answer more questions before the movie’s world premiere at the Venice Film Festival. Mother! hits theaters on September 15, and you can watch the first trailer above.
