With the Golden Globes out of the way, Hollywood's undivided attention is turning the grand daddy of award shows, The Academy Awards. Yesterday, we posted our predictions and this morning, the official nominations were announced in L.A. (How'd we do?!)
As always, there were some surprises (Marion Cotillard) and some snubs (Jennifer Aniston) but for the most part, the usual suspects are all there: Wes Anderson's The Grand Budapest Hotel and Alejandro G. Iñárritu's Birdman tied for the most nominations (9) and Alexandre Desplat's The Imitation Game and Best Picture favorite Boyhood were close behind, with 8 and 7 nominations respectively. The Neil Patrick Harris-hosted show airs on February 22.
