Paramore Covering Fleetwood Mac’s “Everywhere” Is Everything

No, really

by Hayden Manders

Paramore's latest album, After Laughter, is filled with sunny takes on the pop-punk they helped soundtrack a generation one decade ago. Throughout it all, though, they still maintain their edge. Rebels, after all, don't change overnight. So color us shocked when videos of them covering Fleetwood Mac's bouncy ode to unabashed love "Everywhere" started surfacing from their Dublin show. As one YouTube commenter pointed out, "This song is so them??!!!! Wowowowow." Exactly.

Paramore's new sound vibes well with Fleetwood Mac's. Had "Everywhere" not come out in 1987 and become a classic, it'd be easy to think they wrote it themselves. It makes perfect sense they'd use this cover to go into After Laughter's "Rose-Colored Boy" for their just-launched European tour; both songs share the same pep.

Next stop on their near-sold-out tour is Belfast, U.K. The band will take After Laughter stateside beginning July 21 at the Karoondinha Music & Arts Festival in Pennsylvania. Tickets are available here
