Twitter Turned A Planned Parenthood Tweet Into A Meme

“We need a Disney princess who believes ‘Melodrama’ deserved a Grammy”

Yesterday morning, a Pennsylvania-based Planned Parenthood took to Twitter to share a list of the types of Disney princesses the world needs. And, like with most things that go on the internet, it got turned into a viral pop culture meme.

"We need a Disney princess who’s had an abortion. We need a Disney princess who’s pro-choice. We need a Disney princess who’s an undocumented immigrant. We need a Disney princess who’s actually a union worker. We need a Disney princess who’s trans,” Keystone's Planned Parenthood account wrote in a since-deleted tweet.

This approach started with a tweet written a year ago by comedian Sofie Hagan, who called for more "fat Disney princesses."

And while many conservatives took issue with some of the points the PP branch made, others took the moment to tweet out their own versions of Disney princesses the world needs.
