P!nk Is Back With New Music

When’s the last time you heard the sentence “P!nk has a new single”? It’s been a while. Five years in fact, if you don’t include the occasional soundtrack single ("Just Like Fire"). Well, she’s back, and she’s come armed with questions.

Not to be confused with Janet Jackson’s impeccable track “What About,” P!nk’s new single, “What About Us,” asks, “What about us?/ What about all the times you said you had the answers?” She continues: “What about love?/ What about trust?/ What about us?”

It’s hard to not assume the song is a reflection on the current political climate. Or, maybe that’s just what’s on our minds constantly. Anyway, the song continues with: "We are problems that want to be solved/ We are children that need to be loved/ We were willing, we came when you called/ But then you fooled us, enough is enough."

“What About Us” is the first track off of P!nk’s upcoming album, Beautiful Trauma, set to drop October 13. The singer worked with a handful of songwriters and producers, including Max Martin, Jack Antonoff, and Shellback. She wrote on Instagram: “I'm certifiably, insanely proud of this album. It's been a while, and I'm grateful for all the years we've had. Looking forward to the next chapter with you.”
