The nostalgia for the ‘90s isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. If you’re still recovering from the news that beloved brand Lisa Frank is getting its own movie, prepare yourself for what’s next. The first official trailer for the upcoming Power Rangers film has finally arrived.
The glimpse gives us a lot in a short amount of time: Bryan Cranston as Zordon, Elizabeth Banks as the main villain, upgraded costumes, corny dialogue, and action-packed robot fighting. The same idea from the show is still intact. Five high school teenagers realize they have superhuman powers and are the only ones who can save their town from an alien invasion. The gang consists of Naomi Scott, Becky G, Dacre Montgomery, Ludi Lin, and RJ Cyler.
The new film comes to us from the Hunger Games studio and, rumor has it, Lionsgate is looking to Power Rangers to becomes its new long-lasting franchise (reportedly hoping to do “five, six or seven of them”). So, prepare to see a lot more of these mighty morphers on your screen.
The movie hits theaters March 24 and, as usual when it comes to reboots, we’ll see if it lives up to the memories we hold of the original. Go go…watch the trailer above.
