Raised on a diet that included ample helpings of O.M.D. and Kate Bush, we have a soft spot in our hearts for the overly earnest, operatic synth pop of the early ‘80s. We mean, “Cloud Bursting?" C’mon. Such our everything. So, when this little number first went through our earbuds, all kinds of old nerve endings tingled. Thanks, CoS!

Offered up from their forthcoming Fever and Chills album, Powerkompany’s “Can’t Cry” would be right at home between anything by Kate Bush and Yaz in your playlist. Now, the band is far, far from new, but they’re new to us and, with this, they are definitely on the radar.

Boot it up, dream of feathered hair and Korgs, and wait for Fever and Chills (a double album) to land in February 2016.
