‘Little House On The Prairie,’ But Make It Fashion
12 modernized prairie dresses we think you’ll love
The prairie dress is back—and better than ever.
I know what you’re thinking: Are we all going to start dressing like we’re part of Little House On The Prairie? Well, maybe a little bit, but with a modern spin.
We saw prairie-inspired frocks all over the Spring 2018 runways last September, from the ultra-feminine, almost whimsical versions from labels like Brock Collection and Ulla Johnson to slightly grungy interpretations from cool kid labels like R13. That, probably mixed with the fact that Westworld is back on, has made a case for these long, grandma-like frocks making it to the mainstream.
Of course, our picks of the season aren’t anything close to being frumpy or old-fashioned. More interesting cuts, peekaboo shoulders, and sheer fabrics in a mélange of florals and ginghams take the typically conservative prairie dress into 2018.
We rounded up our 12 favorites of the season—available at all price points—below. Snap ‘em up now before it gets too hot to wear sleeves.
