The reason behind this oh-so-drastic change is, of course, his upcoming film The Big Short. In the movie about the financial crisis based on a true story, Gosling portrays Greg Lippmann, a banker who had a hand in the latest stock market crisis. Brad Pitt and Christian Bale are also involved in the movie, which is an adaptation of The Big Short: Inside the Doomsday Machine by finance banker Michaels Lewis.
