Watch Selena Gomez’s New “Bad Liar” Music Video

It’s more like a short film

After sitting on our playlists for about a month, Selena Gomez’s “Bad Liar” finally has a music video.

The singer teased what she refers to as the song's "film" on her Instagram page last night, complete with a movie poster. Directed by Jesse Peretz, who has spearheaded episodes of Girls and Orange Is the New Black, the visual takes place in the '70s. Appropriate given that the song samples Talking Heads’ 1977 single “Psycho Killer.”

Gomez starts out playing a timid, unpopular teenager in high school. She also plays her flirtatious gym teacher (who she has a crush on) and inappropriate principal who turns out to be her dad. Oh, and she also plays her mother. There’s a lot going on. And we’re just tryin’ (tryin’, tryin’, tryin’, tryin’) to figure out what it all means.

At the end, the singer teases something named “Fetish” that will be “coming soon.” Now that’s an ending we didn’t see coming. See it all for yourself, above.
