Chloe x Halle, Little Boots, + many more

by nylon

Every weekend, we bring you #SOUNDCHECK—your new destination for the best of the best new music that hit the web over the course of the week. Because you should always be prepared when someone passes you that AUX cord. This week’s round features 16 of our favorite emerging and established artists including Chloe x Halle, Little Boots, and so many more. Turn up, tune in, and tune out.

The Kids Are Alright - Chloe x Halle

Chloe x Halle "don't really care about the trends you like to follow," but if they're starting a trend of living your best life, we might just have to get in on that. The Kids Are Alright encapsulates the voices of a younger generation that is, let's be honest, way cooler and smarter than most like to give them credit for. Turn up and tune out the weight of the world with this one.

"Lucky" - Tommy Genesis

Bad girl meets cowgirl in the music video for Tommy Genesis' latest single "Lucky." Off her forthcoming release Genesis, "Lucky" is a smooth and mellow track that proves that this queen of underground rap is soon bound to be topping charts. Giddy up!

You Are Someone Else - Fickle Friends

Fickle Friends really went and did that with "Wake Me Up." The British quintet packs all the feel-good indie vibes you need (and want) to carry you into the night.

"Candela" - BAD GYAL

All hail the new dancehall queen, BAD GYAL. "Candela" is a rump shaker if we've ever heard one. And the video? Bring us to a party like this, please.

"Blowjob" - E^ST

Don't let the title of the song fool ya. E^ST's latest is an empowerment anthem.

"Falling Into Me" - Let's Eat Grandma

Let's Eat Grandma's new album, I'm All Ears, is coming June 29 and just like "Hot Pink," "Falling Into Me" is a synth-pop masterpiece.

"Alright" - CYN

The bass line of CYN's latest is so sick. Here's your new "started from the bottom, now we're here" anthem.

"Picture" - Little Boots

Little Boots linked up with underground hero Lauren Flax for a deep house banger that'll have you reminiscing on the past while dancing into the future.

"Find Me (Baba Stiltz & Samo DJ Remix) - Porches

Guitars? Gone. Soulful vocals? No more. Instead, this remix visual from Porches is a smooth, synth-pop track that'll leave you feeling the weight of the ocean on your back.

"Critter" - SPAER

The latest single off SPAER's upcoming debut LP Vol. 1, "Critter" turns a hodgepodge of sounds and textures into an experimental pop track that is just downright cool. We don't know how Izzy Howard did it, but we are sure glad that she did.

"All We Got (SBTRKT Remix)" - Chance the Rapper

SBTRKT is back! And with a remix of Chance the Rapper's "All We Got," no less. Blessed are we the enigmatic producer released this gem after sitting on it for two years.

"Somebody" - Jim-E Stack

Producing a song that is both parts mellow and groovy sounds impossible, but Jim-E Stack did just that. "Somebody" plays out like a hazy summer night party, and we definitely want an invite.

"Vive la Void" - Red Rider

"Vive la Void" was written and recorded by Sanae Yamada during breaks of touring with her band moon duo. She mulls over themes of the supernatural and consciousness, but in a stripped down trance.

"Waiting For You" - The Aces

For their next trick, The Aces are slowing it down and amping up the sensuality. Trust there are more slow jams like this on their debut album When My Heart Felt Volcanic, dropping April 6.

"Bad Manners" - Liana Bank$

If having bad manners is wrong, we don't want to be right. Thanks for the confidence, Liana.

California - Diplo

D-d-d-d-Diplo! A lil' EP never hurt no body and California is a straight-up speaker-shaker from beginning to end. Also, hi Santigold! We missed you.
