St. Vincent, Porches, Bishop Briggs, and many more

by nylon

Every weekend, we bring you #SOUNDCHECK—your new destination for the best of the best new music that hit the web over the course of the week. Because you should always be prepared when someone passes you that AUX cord. This week’s round features 12 of our favorite emerging and established artists including St. Vincent, Porches, Bishop Briggs, and so many more. Turn up, tune in, and tune out.

MASSEDUCTION - St. Vincent

Can Annie Clark pull off perfectly weird pop? Yes, she can. And no, you have no idea what a treat your ears are in for.

"Wishlist" - Kiiara

Kiiara's been gone for a minute, now she's back with the "Wishlist." More piano vibes like this, girl.

"Country" - Porches

A little birdy told us Porches has a new project in the works and that more stunning visuals like this are on the way. Keep. 'Em. Comin'.

"Plain Jane" - A$AP Ferg

We don't know what's better, the Juicy J "Slob On My Knob"-inspired flow, the club-ready beat, or the Rihanna cameo in Ferg's latest party video. See it above and decide for yourself.

"Black Tongue (Four Track Demo / Audio)" - Yeah Yeah Yeahs

The more unreleased stuff the Yeah Yeah Yeahs release, the more we want to go through all of their archives and just sit and listen. This stellar Fever to Tell track sounds just as good as a demo.

"Particula (feat. Nasty C, Ice Prince, Patoranking & Jidenna)" - Major Lazer & DJ Maphorisa

Dance is truly the great unifer and this song, "in particula" does it oh so well.

"Spice Girl" - Aminé

Things get weird in Aminé's hilarious and creative new visual, but the guest appearances from Issa Rae and Mel B make it all worthwhile.

"Dream" - Bishop Briggs

Bishop Briggs does it again, taking way into the rafters with her soul and voice. Tell us your truth, girl.

"Headphones" - Walk The Moon

Walk The Moon takes us back to their weird and pushes it further into timeless quality. We're going to ruin our good pair of headphones to this.

Morning After - dvsn

At long last, dvsn's sophomore release has finally arrived, and it's anything but a slump. In this carefully curated record, you'll find a delightful mix of both new-wave and old-school R&B vibes that'll take you down a seductive and sometimes, heartbreaking road guaranteed to bring on all the feels.

Beautiful Trauma - P!nk

Say what you want about P!nk, but this is one of the best pop albums of the year and yet another reason why P!nk deserves every accolade thrown and given her way. Political, personal, and damn emotional, P!nk hits all the right places on this.

"Thorns" - Lo Moon

You never know when Lo Moon is going to drop a new song, but when they do, life gets instantly more clear. "Thorns" is the kind of song you run to when you're feeling a little meh and need some soothing. Close your eyes and let that sweet trumpet wash over you. Alt rock is in good hands with this trio.
