It looks like 2018 is going to start with a Stephen King-level scare.

The King of Horror is about to top all of his film adaptations with a new Hulu original series, Castle Rock. The upcoming show is a King smoothie, blending several characters and worlds from a variety of his novels. Set in the fictional town of Castle Rock, Maine—the setting of several of King's novels—the series will feature Shawshank Prison, as well as OG King star Sissy Spacek from Carrie and Bill Skarsgard, who just broke out big thanks to his role in the most recent King adaptation, It

Skarsgard revealed to The Verge that Season 1 will be “self-contained,” meaning it will not continue into a second season. Each season will stand alone with its own plot and a completely revamped cast, similar to the setup of American Horror Story.

However, each season will have a story line independent of anything you’ve read in a King novel. Creator, Dustin Thomason, describes the project as “brush[ing] up” against the worlds created by King, in order to tell a totally new story that will make viewers feel like it came straight from King's mind.

Castle Rock is set to premiere in early 2018. Watch the teaser, above.
