Watch The Dark & Hilarious Trailer For ‘Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri’

Someone give McDormand an award already

Finally, we have an original movie to look forward to.

When Mildred Hayes (Frances McDormand) buys the billboards on the road leading to her small Southern town, things get dramatic. Why? Because she posts a trio of messages inquiring about her daughter’s unsolved murder case. To add more fuel to the fire, she calls out the chief of police, played by Woody Harrelson, for his lack of action.

“It seems to me, the police department is too busy torturing black folks to solve actual crimes,” McDormand tells a reporter. Things only get progressively worse from there. Expect some choking, people being set on fire, and lots of cursing. It sounds violent, and it is, but it has a refreshing air of humor about it. McDormand also appears to give a stand-up performance.

With live-action remakes, sequels, and prequels monopolizing the industry at the moment, it’s refreshing to see something new and, above all else, funny. Watch the full trailer for Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri above. The film hits theaters later this year.
