Dakota Johnson’s Beauty Evolution, From Miss Golden Globe to Movie Star

Dakota was looked just like her mother, with side-swept bangs and golden blonde hair, as Miss Golden Globe in 2006

We love this curly shorter look for Dakota, seen in 2008. Her hair was a deeper golden tone and she had started experimenting with smudgy black eyeliner.

In 2010, Dakota opted for a more bare-faced look, losing the eyeliner and trying out for statement red lipstick.

By 2012, Dakota had her now-signature curtain bangs but her hair was bright California blonde.

Dakota’s hair went darker this year and hasn’t turned back since. She pulled her hair back into a sleek updo for the LACMA 2013 Art + Film Gala.

By 2014, Dakota had perfected the hair combo we’ve grown to love— effortlessly wavy brunette hair with her signature bangs.

In 2016 Dakota tried out a breezy shoulder-length lob for a change.

For the 89th Annual Academy Awards, Dakota slicked back her now long fringe for a quick change up and blessed us with a matching peach lipstick and eyeshadow moment.

At the 2019 Oscars, Dakota’s hair was a richer chocolate brown that paired perfectly with deep plum lipstick and dark eyeliner.
