Janelle Monáe Wore A Bedazzled Bun And Now I Want To, Too

At this point, I'm convinced every good hairstyle can become a great one by adding a few jewels and gems, and Janelle Monáe's latest look is just further proof of this. The singer-songwriter stepped out for the Los Angeles premiere of her latest film Harriet on Wednesday night, wearing a bedazzled bun I'll be thinking about for weeks. The look is simple but stunning, with Monáe's hair swept up into a top knot and accented with clear gems. The hair moment comes courtesy of Monáe's hairstylist Nikki Nelms, who is responsible for many of her most iconic looks. It was a beautiful complement to her jeweled and feathered Honayda gown, and will now be a permanent fixture in my "saved" folder on the 'gram.

Although the bun is red carpet beauty gold, it works well in performance settings, too. Following the premiere, Monáe swapped her gown for a latex jacket and performed at the West Hollywood Edition preview party, bun intact.
