NYLON Party Report Card: NYLON x Cetaphil From Scratch to Soothe Fireside Chat
Welcome to NYLON’s Party Report Card, where we give you the Who, What, Where, Why, and When on this week’s hottest parties — plus all the gossip you missed. It’s the inside scoop you need to feel like you were on the invite list. Sorry in advance for the FOMO.
WHAT: Cetaphil x NYLON From Scratch to Soothe Fireside Chat — a luxurious evening of drinks, bites, and skincare secrets
WHEN: Tuesday, April 22
WHO: An intimate group of 75 tastemakers, creators, and beauty enthusiasts
WHERE: Maxwell Social in Tribeca
WHY: To bring together a community of skincare lovers and spark a helpful conversation about finding freedom from eczema flare-ups
THE VIBE: NYLON and Cetaphil hosted an event in Tribeca that went way beyond a standard Tuesday night talk. The already-opulent Maxwell Social was elevated with plush velvet seating and rich burgundy flower arrangements that brought an old world vibe. Partygoers sipped on spritzes and snacked on tuna tartare between snapping photos with striking florals and enviable Cetaphil products.
At the center of the event was a conversation between Nara Smith and dermatologist Dr. Camille Howard-Verovic, moderated by NYLON editor-in-chief Lauren McCarthy. The powerhouse voices discussed the daily realities of living with eczema, and explained why Cetaphil’s game-changing Restoraderm line is their holy grail for instant relief for dry, itchy skin due to eczema flare-ups.
The panel busted eczema myths (it’s not contagious!), the hosts shared intimate stories (at one point, Smith recounted not being able to hold her babies because her flare-ups were so bad), and attendees learned the real reason why the Cetaphil Restoraderm line works so well (the brand stands in science, not gimmicks or going viral. It’s no wonder Smith is on her fifth bottle of the stuff).
When the panel ended, guests chatted about their own skin stories while sampling Restoraderm products and lining up for personalized skin consultations from expert derms. Servers reappeared, passing trays of mini chocolate tarts and black and white cookies. Even with all the fanfare in the room, Restoraderm products were the real star of the show, going home with guests in perfectly packaged gift bags stocked full of Cetaphil swag.
BEST DRESSED: Nara Smith, of course, in a chic cream off-the-shoulder dress that perfectly contrasted with the space’s ruby accents.
OVERHEARD: [shortly after applying Restoraderm] “It feels like my skin just drank a gallon of water.”
