Billy Porter Made The Most Dramatic Entrance Of The Met Gala
Bow down to this king
Billy Porter just showed up to the Met Gala on a litter, carried by six men, like the royalty that he is. This is how I would like to enter every room from now.
Porter, dripping in gold, was carried onto the red carpet by a group of shirtless men wearing gold pants and face and body jewelry. Porter, atop a velvety black bed like an Egyptian Pharaoh, was sporting a beaded cape by The Blonds, a chain headpiece, and dramatic gold, jeweled-adorned eye makeup.
But there was even more magic to be seen once Porter actually walked onto the carpet. Once we were allowed to fully absorb his gold fringe jumpsuit (also by the Blondes), he spread his arms to reveal 10-foot gold wings and glittery boots by Giuseppe Zanotti.
It's worth pointing out that Porter's glittery, sequiny-y eye look was pulled off with Pat McGrath products, because of course. This look once again proves that no one can do camp better than Black people. Even though I tip my hat to Lady Gaga's many, many costume changes, I'm choosing Porter to bow down to.
