Charli D'Amelio Brought TikTok To The Prada Fall 2020 Show
Plus, the Italian fashion house's collection included more tiny bags and selfie-friendly headbands
On Thursday at Milan Fashion Week, Prada presented its Fall 2020 collection and it had everything: tiny bags, selfie-friendly headbands, and TikTok. The Italian fashion house invited the social media platform's Charli D'Amelio to Milan for the show, which she documented for her 28 million followers on the app.
The 15-year-old Internet star shared her wardrobe options before ultimately deciding on a cropped gray sweater, black trousers, and a pink shoulder bag, which she paired with another small crossbody bag. (Two bags at once! It's a trend!) After the show, she enlisted three models to join her in a viral TikTok dance to Avril Lavigne's "What The Hell." I can't say I entirely understand today's young people, but if they're happy then so am I.
As for Prada's latest collection, models including Kaia Gerber and Gigi Hadid walked the runway in tailored suits and jackets, chiffon skirts, and gray stockings. According to Miuccia Prada, the tiny bag trend still has some life left in it. Suit jackets were cinched with mini belt bags, while others were draped around model's necks like coin purse necklaces or attached to their wrist like bracelets. You know, for all the loose change you carry around.
The luxury brand also offered a new take on its coveted oversized padded headband with a new fanned-out version that's adorned with the Prada logo front and center. Seems like the perfect headband to be shown on, say, an influencer's TikTok account.
