Chloë Sevigny’s Latest Cannes Look Is A Lesson In Maximalist Fashion

So much is going on in this outfit, and I love it

Chloë Sevigny walked the Cannes red carpet on Friday in what can only be described as the epitome of maximalist fashion. There are so many textiles, details, and prints in one outfit, and I'm obsessed.

Sevigny wore a Marine Serre piece that at first glance appears to be a black strapless, calf-length dress, but it actually had a pink floral jacket, with puffy sleeves, attached to it; no, really, the two are stitched together at the top. Across her stomach, and holding the two sides of the jacket together, were layered gold chains. That could be enough for a statement-making look, but not for her: She matched the dress with high black-and-white socks with a half-moon pattern and black pointed-toe heels. She then completed the look with colored sunglasses and some gold hoop earrings.

While the components of this look could have easily made for two or three dope outfits, Sevigny made a strong case for more is more. Maximalist fashion lovers, take note!
