Spotify's Pop Rising Had The Best Year Yet: Here's What You Missed

by BDG Studios

In case you missed it: Spotify’s Pop Rising had a really, really good year. Fans of the playlist already know that it’s the ultimate destination for finding pop music’s breaking hits, but in 2023, Spotify took Pop Rising to a whole new level. The initiative brought Pop Rising to life, transforming it from a cutting-edge playlist to a full-fledged fan experience by providing pop music enthusiasts with access to their favorite artists and exclusive merchandise.

This year, Spotify’s Pop Rising Playlist partnered with fans’ favorite up-and-coming pop artists for an unforgettable live music experience. In April, Spotify announced Pop Rising On Tour, an endeavor designed to engage fans across the country throughout key tour stops for emerging artists.

Spotify partnered with Lizzy McAlpine for her hometown show in Philadelphia, treating fans to a photobooth and a giveaway bag including one of McAlpine’s favorite local snacks. At an Atlanta Sabrina Carpenter show during the artist’s first headlining tour, fans had the opportunity to recreate the “Emails I Can’t Send” album cover. And during D4VD’s Los Angeles show, Spotify surprised fans with a customizable merch activation.

“Spotify is always looking for ways to connect artists with their fans and allow listeners to engage with their favorite playlists in new ways,” says Ashley Graver, Head of Pop, Dance, and Indie, Artist Partnerships at Spotify in a statement.

Pop Rising continues to be a space on Spotify where listeners can engage with up-and-coming artists and discover their new favorite songs. And while Pop Rising has brought the playlist to life, fans can always keep up with its revolving lineup on Spotify.
