It’s no secret that Taylor Swift loves a good celebrity collaboration, and the superstar has been pulling out all the stops and favors for her rerelease of Red.
After tapping actors Dylan O’Brien and Sadie Sink for her “All Too Well” short film, Swift has now called upon Miles Teller and longtime friend (and Swiftie Squad member) Blake Lively for her new music video, “I Bet You Think About Me,” a previously unreleased Red track “from the vault.”
The new six-minute visual is one of Swift’s more playful clips, starring the singer opposite of Teller as she plays a crazed, bitter persona of herself who’s wreaking havoc at Teller’s wedding. You would be remiss if it didn’t give flashbacks to the petty ex-girlfriend character she first introduced in 2014’s “Blank Space” music video.
Swift and Lively’s friendship stretches back to as early as 2015, when Lively first cited herself as a Swift fan in an interview. (In case you forgot, yes — Lively and husband Ryan Reynolds were both in attendance at Swift’s notorious 2016 Fourth Of July Party.)
Gushing about the actress on social media, Swift wrote about the video, “I finally got to work with the brilliant, brave, & wickedly funny @blakelively on her directorial debut. Join us as we raise a toast, and a little hell.” Lively, on the other hand, said she was “in the womb getting ready for this moment.”
“I Bet You Think About Me” is Swift’s country-leaning collaboration with star Chris Stapleton from Red (Taylor’s Version). The track, like most of the songs from the album, is rumored to be about Jake Gyllenhaal, whom Swift dated for a brief three months back in 2010.
Swift’s Red (Taylor’s Version) was released on Friday to critical and commercial acclaim, breaking streaming records nearly immediately. It’s Swift’s second release in her journey re-recording her older studio albums after she was unable to buy back her masters. She released Fearless (Taylor’s Version) in April.
