3 Stylish Ways To Amp Up Your Fall Wardrobe At Marshalls

Marshalls buyers hustle 24/7 to get you access to the good stuff, so that you can feel as great as you look.

Fall fashion, as opposed to fashion from literally any other season, tends to get the style crowd the most energized. From the tactility and refinement of cozy fabrics like leather and cashmere to the statement-making appeal of a bomber jacket or chunky loafers, there’s so much to love about getting dressed during this time of year — not to mention the endless outfit personalization that fall layering offers.

Your local Marshalls store is filled with high-quality, on-trend product at great prices, with its team of buyers hand-selecting every single item to ensure you’re getting the best pieces. They focus on brand names, special designs, and high-end fabrics, which is why Marshalls is where NYLON editor-in-chief Lauren McCarthy is stocking up on all her fall must-haves.

In what she’s calling her “most stylish season yet,” McCarthy is upgrading her wardrobe with edgy but versatile moto-inspired pieces, sleek second layers, and denim that’s at once unexpected and classic. Working in fashion always pushes McCarthy to take her signature look beyond its comfort zone, and these pieces make that possible. Check out how she’s styling three fashion must-haves — all shopped at Marshalls — for the season ahead.

1. Stylish Second Layers

Vests, cardigans, and pullovers are just a few of McCarthy’s second-layer staples that add extra interest to a look. “I like to play with different shades and textures,” says McCarthy.

“This V-neck cashmere sweater with ribbed detailing feels extremely autumn with a suede jacket. Worn over a classic tee, this outfit screams effortless and easy, but still interesting and put-together.

2. Timeless Denim

When in doubt, always go for denim, whether it’s a pair of wide-leg jeans or a reimagined take on the double-denim look. McCarthy, who describes herself as “a denim girl through and through,” prefers to fully embrace the fabric from head-to-toe.

“I’m obsessed with this unique spin on the classic denim jacket,” she says of her look. “I’m pairing it with relaxed-fit jeans,” also in a medium wash, “red kitten heels in a shiny patent-leather, and a cool hobo bag with a luxe gold top-handle.” The shape of the pieces — plus the accessories — result in a look that’s polished but laid-back: a cool balance no other fabric does quite as well as denim.

3. Moto-Inspired Styles

“Moto-inspired styles are the perfect way to add edge to a look,” says McCarthy, whose go-to fall item is an oversized leather bomber. “I love how a roomy fit makes it easy to wear as many layers as you want,” she adds, which is key to seasonal dressing. But moto-inspired styles don’t need to stop with jackets; a pair of lug-sole or knee-high boots are also a must. “For me, more is more,” she shares, noting she looks for footwear with details that add contrast, like silver hardware on dark leather. “Marshalls buyers focus on these kinds of unique touches,” she says.

So whether you’re shopping for a fall wardrobe that feels timelessly cool, super bold, or like an eclectic mix of every vibe, level up your look this season at Marshalls.
