If your closet has been feeling uninspired as of late, buckle up, because that’s all about to change. Amazon Fashion’s co-brand with Prime Video’s Making The Cut Season 3 winner Yannik Zamboni is here. Enter: rare/self. With an inclusive size range full of thoughtfully designed wardrobe essentials, the co-brand has everything you could want.
President of Amazon Fashion Muge Erdirik Dogan says of the debut, “Amazon Fashion supports and celebrates the creativity and growth of emerging designers. The co-brand with Yannik reflects our shared commitment to inclusivity and thoughtful design. The rare/self products include sustainability certifications featured in our Climate Pledge Friendly program and encourage individuality and self-expression for all of Amazon Fashion’s diverse customers.”
If you’re a Making The Cut fan, you’re already familiar with Zamboni’s instantly recognizable designs. Zamboni’s inventive and undeniably avant-garde silhouettes wowed hosts, judges, and viewers alike, and the new co-brand with Amazon Fashion perfectly showcases this aesthetic. To see the designs yourself, head to the Amazon Fashion store and shop rare/self.
Consciously-Crafted Designs
Each product in rare/self has third-party sustainability certifications featured in Amazon’s Climate Pledge Friendly program. The apparel in the collection is made with cotton, certified by the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), and the backpack in the collection is made from recycled cotton, certified by the Global Recycled Standard (GRS). “I’ve always been passionate about developing clothing that is conceptual in design while considering the environmental aspects of the design choices,” says Zamboni. But their thoughtful approach to design doesn’t stop there: “With rare/self, I wanted to take my avant-garde aesthetic and transform it into an assortment of everyday wardrobe essentials that celebrate individuality and can be worn by anyone, anywhere.”
Inclusive Sizing For All
This sense of consideration carries over into rare/self’s forward-thinking size range. “We wanted to create an all-gender size scale that made everyone feel included,” explains Zamboni. “Rather than relying on existing men’s or women’s sizes, we came up with a unique all-gender size scale that fit our brand’s inclusive tenets.” The scale includes sizes 1-8, which can be cross-referenced with a size chart to determine your corresponding size.
“At the end of the day, you define style yourself, and it takes guts to be stylish.” - Yannik Zamboni, rare/self designer
Zamboni’s co-brand with Amazon Fashion is a celebration of experimentation, personal style, and simply having a good time. “The more you try different styles, the more you will know what you like,” says Zamboni. “Forget the outside voices around you. At the end of the day, you define style yourself, and it takes guts to be stylish.”
