Born into the fashion world with two models for parents, Lauren Wasser’s remarkable childhood was spent on and off photoshoot sets with her mom — along with the biggest supermodel names of the ’90s. But the glossy scene wasn’t as shiny from the inside looking out. “I grew up seeing and living one side of beauty,” she says.
When Wasser lost both legs due to Toxic Shock Syndrome complications in 2012, she realized shutting down impossible beauty standards, as well as finding safer feminine hygiene products, was her top priority. “Now my main purpose in life is changing the idea of what beauty really looks like."
