This CBD-Infused Lube Makes Masturbation So Much Better

It's like it has superpowers

Friends don't let friends miss out on all the cool, under-the-radar things they know about, like which little-known beauty brand is low-key making the best highlighter around. And because we consider our readers to be like friends, we gather together all our best finds in our Don't Sleep On Thisseries. Check in every week to see what things we can't wait to share with you.

It feels like fate that I found out about a product that makes masturbating even better than usual during National Masturbation Month (yes, that's really a thing): Foria's Awaken CBD lube. You might have heard about the brand based on its cramp-relieving cannabis suppositories, but the company offers a wide variety of cannabis- and hemp-derived products in the wellness sphere.

The CBD lube—formulated with nine "plant-based aphrodisiacs... and nothing else"—was made specifically for people with vaginas to experience enhanced sexual pleasure—a nice alternative to all the products out there specifically formulated for people with penises. And while I don't have much of a problem with getting myself off, I was interested to see what the product would do for me.

Before I went all in, I sprayed a bit on my hand to see what it was like, and was immediately into its smooth texture. Instead of the predictable stickiness, Awaken feels silky and luxurious. It also smells like mint and chocolate, which adds to the luxe feel.

But the real proof of a good lube is not in how it smells (even though that helps!) but in how it works. After putting on some music, I got down to, um, the task at hand. It's recommended to put the lube on and wait about 15 minutes so that the CBD can actually sink into your skin and work its magic, so I put some on and waited. After you wait, Foria claims that the product, with the help of the CBD in the formula, will enhance the sensations that masturbating and having sex already bring. Of course, all lubes claim to make sex better, but this one actually claims to increase your sensitivity down there, instead of just lubricating.

Once I'd waited the necessary 15 minutes, I was pretty desperate to see how the product worked—or, really, to touch myself at all, because 15 minutes feels like a lifetime in this particular situation! Using this lube made me feel like I was riding the high that comes right before you orgasm, only it was there the whole time I was masturbating. I was able to last longer before coming than I probably would have otherwise, so I got to really appreciate the enhanced sensations that the product gives.

I'll admit, I've since used this product without waiting the necessary 15 minutes (what can I say? I'm impatient), and, though my results were different, they were still really, really good. I found that my orgasm happened at about the same time as the effects would have actually started working, which made it almost overwhelming, in the absolute best way.

Foria also says that the CBD in Awaken will decrease tension and discomfort that may come from sex and masturbation. I can't say that either of these is a problem that I regularly have and therefore can't speak to its effectiveness at combatting them, but, seeing as it was very right about the whole "increased pleasure" claim, it's certainly worth trying it out, if those are your issues.
