You Can Wear Kurt Cobain's Art In New Merch Collection

Creative directed by his daughter

The artwork of legendary musician Kurt Cobain is celebrated in a new collection of merchandise depicting his works exactly as he created them. If you're looking for a powerful, affordable, wearable art piece, look no further.

Created with Live Nation, the collection comes in two waves: One is available at Selfridges UK, and the other, more limited capsule is on Kurt Cobain Shop. Both parts feature T-shirts and sweatshirts decorated with an array of journal entries, sketches, paintings, and drawings from the late Cobain's archive.

Each piece was curated and designed under Cobain's daughter Frances Bean's creative direction, so you know that the art is as true to her father's original vision as possible. According to a press release, none of the artwork has been edited in any way, and it appears on the garments as it did on the page, "so the customer can experience the fluidity and potent subject matter as it was intended."

The pieces are not only important works of art, but they also give back to an important cause. A portion of proceeds from each item purchased from Kurt Cobain Shop will be donated to the Jed Foundation, a non-profit which aims to prevent suicides of teens and adults.

Below are some of our favorites from the collection. All pieces can be found at Selfridges and Kurt Cobain Shop.
