Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson are at the top of their respective acting games, yet we as a society love nothing more than to remember their Hollywood origin story: the Twilight saga.
Turns out David Cronenberg — the director of Crimes of the Future, in which Stewart stars as a rogue agent working for the National Organ Register — has an inner Twi-hard after all.
Ahead of the film’s premiere at Cannes, Cronenberg had coffee with celebrated film critic Jordan Ruimmy and revealed his hopes of reuniting Stewart and Pattinson on screen.
“It was Robert who actually introduced me to Kristen,” David told Jordan. “They have developed beautifully, separately, as actors. Making arthouse movies and successfully carrying that off. Kristen and I had a great time and Rob and I had a great time. For me, yeah, I can definitely think of a movie, or idea, that would be great to have them both together.”
