Lupita Nyong'o's Box Braids And Bustier-Inspired Blazer Stole The SAG Awards

By now, it's pretty much guaranteed that any time Lupita Nyong'o is to make a red carpet appearance, her look will not only be absolutely breathtaking but also a total standout amongst a sea of classic gowns.And this held true at last night's SAG Awards, where she snagged an award for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture along with her fellow Black Panther actors. In our eyes, she took home the award for Best Dressed of the Evening, too.

Nyong'o wore a custom Vera Wang ensemble, which was the perfect embodiment of "business on top, party on the bottom," red carpet-edition. Her look consisted of a deconstructed blazer with bustier details, paired with a dazzling sheer column skirt, which, according to the brand, featured 32,000 hand-sewn smoke colored crystals. Casual! She kept the rest of her look simple, with diamond chandelier earrings and ring by Messika.

But just as incredible as her choice in dress was her choice in beauty.

Nyong'o wore her hair in wavy box braids à la hair genius Vernon François, leaving some bead-adorned braids loose to frame her face, and plaiting the rest in the back. For her makeup, she donned a subtle smoky eye, accented by a streak of metallic red under-liner, finishing off the look with a glossy red lip.

Overall, she looked absolutely stunning, but it's Nyong'o we're talking about, so can we really be that surprised?
