Miley Cyrus' Instagram Caption About Her Divorce Is, Um, Special

Over the weekend, a rep for Miley Cyrus revealed that the musician and her husband of seven months, actor Liam Hemsworth, would be seeking a divorce. The news came around the same time that photos surfaced of Cyrus kissing Kaitlynn Carter, whose marriage to Brody Jenner was annulled earlier this year.

The official response came via Cyrus' reps, who confirmed the separation on Saturday night in a comment to People, saying, "Ever-evolving, changing as partners and individuals, they have decided this is what's best while they both focus on themselves and careers."

But, both Cyrus and Hemsworth have now personally responded, the former with a vague Instagram caption and the latter in an unplanned comment to The Daily Mail. For his part, Hemsworth didn't want to speak about anything, however, when a Daily Mailreporter approached him about it, he replied, "You don't understand what it's like. I don't want to talk about it, mate."

Cyrus alluded to the situation in an Instagram caption posted while she's on vacation in Italy. "Don't fight evolution, because you will never win," she wrote. "Like the mountain I am standing on top of, which was once under water, connected with Africa, change is inevitable." She finished, "I was taught to respect the planet and its process and I am committed to doing the same with my own." Okay, then!
