Our Favorite Beauty Looks From The 2019 Oscars

There was a lot of good hair

When we think about the different awards shows, and the red carpet looks that come from them, nothing feels more classic than the Oscars, the longest-running awards show in history which celebrated its 91st year this evening. More often than not, a night at the Oscars means seeing attendees "playing it safe"—with an array of sparkly gowns, red lips, and Old Hollywood waves—especially when it comes to beauty. And while this was true for most this evening, we certainly didn't mind all of the gorgeous and modern takes on classic beauty looks. (Just take a look at Lady Gaga's icy updo or Lucy Boynton's classic S-waves.)

The few who did take beauty risks tonight really went for it, especially in the hair department. From Amandla Stenberg's sculptural braids to Hannah Beachler's faux hawk (and, um, can we talk about those amazing face chains?), this evening brought on hair inspo for days.

Check out some of our favorite beauty looks from the 2019 Oscars, below.
