Rihanna's New Savage X Fenty Campaign Is Marie Antoinette-Inspired
Let them wear lingerie!
After a sneak peek from Rihanna on Instagram in February, Savage X Fenty officially dropped its March 2020 collection on Tuesday, and it will have you more than ready for spring. The accompanying campaign features Rihanna herself, as well as Lulu Bonfils, Jarline, Jordyn Johnson, Sabey, and Leslie Sidora, who all model the new range of lingerie and undergarments, including lace bralettes and vintage-style corsets.
The inspiration for the campaign appears to be Marie Antoinette, as models wore colorful pouf wigs, a sartorial vibe that definitely seems to be on the up — Moschino's most recent fall collection was also heavily inspired by the same fashion muse.
The collection includes newly updated accessories, like oil slick handcuffs and jeweled pasties. Per usual, the size range and price points are accessible to just about everyone, with sizes going from 32A through 44DD and XS through 3X, along with prices topping out at $49.
Inclusivity has been part of Savage X Fenty's core since its inception, with Rihanna going on the record to explain why it's important for the brand.
"I wanted to include every woman. I wanted every woman on the stage with different energies, different races, body types, different stages in their womanhood, culture," she told Elle in 2018 after the brand's debut runway show. "I wanted women to feel celebrated and that we started this shit. We own this. This is our land because really it is. Women are running the world right now and it's too bad for men."
