Wear Something Brighter, We Can't See You
NYFW Street Style Day 1's biggest trend was blindingly bright hues
NYFW has officially kicked off, and the street style on day one was the exact opposite of the dreary day. Whether it was the entire look or just an accessory or two, pops of color were dotting the streets of the city. You could probably spot Chelsea Piers and Spring Studios from a plane, to be honest.
And, you know what? I'm not mad about it at all, even though my wardrobe consists of approximately five colors. I'm seriously considering making my own closet a lot bolder and brighter. Wearing your personality on your sleeve is obviously in style right now.
Below, we round up our favorite street style looks from NYFW day one.
We definitely saw this colorway coming.
Our editor-in-chief, Gabrielle Korn, wearing the most luscious red coat we've ever seen. And it matches perfectly with her red lip! I'm living for it.
I love the level of attention paid to each detail of this 'fit. Matching the bag and coat with colors in her shirt? Iconic.
Absolutely no one said that denim cutoffs were reserved for the summer. We've been depriving ourselves, obviously.
Yes, my style inspo is also the Crayola 120-count box.
Our fashion and beauty editor, Jenna Igneri, bringing us a bold pop of color with that bag.
A bright sheer top means you can layer more bright pieces underneath.
An all-black base can definitely be made to fit the bright AF trend.
These pants really let the haters know to back the fuck off.
Maybe your pop of color is your hair? Here for it.
Another stellar example of using brightly colored accessories to your advantage.
Too much or not enough? We think the latter.
I've never needed anything more than I need this hat.
... Actually, maybe I need this coat more.
I will never stop loving millennial pink.
We see you Eleven.
I just want to touch this outfit... So silky...
Looking both subtle and bold at the same time. Into it.
This is exactly the vibe I wish to emulate.
Gabrielle, Jenna, and our managing editor Irina Grechko unintentionally creating the American flag. This is the only kind of patriotism I'll accept.
What came first, the outfit or the accessories?
I've found the shoes I'm wearing to Pride this year!
I want to live in this coat—it's perfect for chilly temps.
A visionary take on the leopard print hair trend, if you ask me.
