Kendrick Lamar’s “Love” Video Celebrates Women Who Put Up With Men’s BS

Kendrick Lamar’s DAMN. is one of the best albums of the year. Now, he’s giving us visuals from one of the best songs off of the project.

The video shows the rapper going through the ups and downs that come with being in a relationship—the arguments and the makeups, the temptation and the meditation. A fight at the dinner table turns into Lamar drinking by himself straight from the bottle. He takes some time to be alone, but eventually, finds his way back to his woman and, by the end of the video, on her front doorstep. She lets him right back in because we are a kind and forgiving bunch.

Pay attention to the 1:54 mark, though, where the rapper reveals that he’s going to be on the upcoming Black Panther soundtrack. It doesn't say in what capacity, but we can add this to the very long list of reasons to be excited for the film.
