Chanel Tapped Pharrell To Design A Collection

He’s a longtime collaborator of the brand

by Allison Stubblebine

Pharrell Williams dropped some pretty big news while attending Chanel's Cruise 2018 show in Bangkok, Thailand, according to Dazed. The producer, donning a sparkly yellow Chanel hoodie, revealed that he'd be designing an entire collection for the fashion house. What's more, that hoodie is one of his designs for the brand.

Williams is no stranger to the Chanel design process. Last year, he designed a shoe as a collaboration with the French house and Adidas, satisfying sneakerheads everywhere with a limited production run of 500 pairs. These kicks cost $30,000 though, so you probably haven't seen many hitting the pavement since they were purchased.

It's pretty clear that Williams is a favorite of the luxury brand—he was the first man to star in its handbag campaigns and even got a close-up look at the production of Chanel's Métiers d’Art 2015/2016 collection. Per Dazed's report, there are no specific details about Williams' upcoming collection, other than that it's happening, and has one very yellow, very glittery hoodie. Stay tuned.
