On Monday, Aug. 29, Serena Williams played in the first round of the 2022 U.S. Open in New York City and likely the final tennis tournament of her career. The 40-year-old champion opened singles play with a 6-3, 6-3 victory over her opponent Danka Kovinić — and she did so in style.
